2021 is the year everyone is excited to attend a conference! We’ve all waited out the pandemic and the cancelled events but this year the industry is doing everything we can to be back together again. We certainly felt together again at Caesar’s Palace in September for the Las Vegas Travel Agent Forum. We felt very fortunate to attend as VAX VacationAccess this year and gave travel advisors multiple opportunities to hear and learn more about what we have to offer these days on VAX.
Monday, September 27 was a panel presentation, “Unlocking Efficiency and Growth Potential with Technology Panel,” which our vice president, Joe Shomperlen, participated in. It was a lively discussion about technology used and needed in the industry that Sharon Little, owner of Bespoke Travel Group, facilitated with plenty of her usual spunk. My favorite takeaway was her saying from across the pond: “suck it and see,” which simply is a trial-and-error saying meaning give it a try and see if it works.
VAX also participated in the technology roundtables later that afternoon, sharing some of our latest features on VAX. The Travel Inspo Tool Kit and the Takeoff Travel Stream are two of the newest content pages we’ve added. Additionally, we talked about The Compass Magazine that is now out in print and how you can view it digitally as well as sign up to get it mailed to you.
Tuesday, I presented my workshop “Power Your Business with VAX VacationAccess”twice to an abundance of advisors and many had wonderful things to share that they had learned. A couple of advisors even said they could teach the class and then came back to say they still learned things! Always attend a training when you can to glean a few new tricks and tools that can help your business.
The tradeshow was bustling and while the conference required vaccines or negative COVID tests and masks, I would say that it didn’t slow down the number of attendees that were ready, anxious and willing to get out to engage, learn and build those relationships that make their businesses stronger.
What industry event will we see you at next?
I’ve heard it said by many people when I tell them that I’m traveling to Cleveland as one of my work destinations that it’s the mistake by the lake. Well, I’m here to tell you that there is a hidden gem in the travel industry that meets there for KHM’s Destination Success conference each year. I don
The 2019 Travel Leader’s Network EDGE Conference was held this year at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. I was lucky enough to attend the event with a few other members of our VAX team; Sarah, our senior manager of VAX’s marketing and operations, and Jor
It’s been some time since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) loosened the guidelines for cruisers and cruise lines. With that news more and more passengers are jumping on ships and planning their cruise vacations. Seems like a great time to remind you of all the cruise resources at
Industry travel has ramped back up and I have been lucky enough to get out to several travel events where I spoke with many advisors again face-to-face. There’s always a lot of focus on VAX, the award-winning booking platform, and some of the tools that help to make you more efficient as an advisor.
