United Airlines Announces New Service to Tokyo’s Haneda National Airport

Starting March 28, 2020, United Airlines will begin nonstop service to Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport (HND) from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York/Newark and Washington, D.C. United has been flying to Tokyo for more than 40 years, and is now expanding their network there.

United currently offers nonstop service to Haneda from San Francisco, and also offers daily service to Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT) from Denver, Guam, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark and San Francisco. However, with the new service to Haneda, United will no longer offer flights to Narita from Chicago and Washington, D.C.

Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport is about a 15-minute drive to the city center, compared to Narita International Airport, which is just less than an hour away. So why the move to Haneda?

"Our new service to Haneda gives our customers more choice and connections to more than 65 destinations throughout Asia. With service beginning next spring, we look forward to providing convenient service for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and beyond," said Patrick Quayle, United's vice president of International Network.
