Travel insights from Beth Kitzman, BDM for VAX VacationAccess

Travel for Rest and Rejuvenation

We all travel for different reasons. Some travel to explore, some travel to let loose and celebrate and some travel to discover unknown cultures. Our reasons for travel can be known or unknown, and we often travel for different reasons at different times of our lives. An important thing to keep in mind is that travel doesn’t always have to be far for it to be enjoyable and beneficial. This week, I’m traveling for restoration of my mental wellness, something that I find is easy to do in my home state, Wisconsin.

Wisconsin has a wonderful and sometimes comical reputation for its north woods area. Many people have different definitions of where exactly the ‘north woods’ are and honestly that is because so much of the state has that woodsy feel. There are many lakes that provide the opportunity to have cabins, lodges, etc. for a fun, recreational vacation away from home on or near the lake.

My family is fortunate enough to have a cottage on Iron River Wisconsin and it is a treasured spot for us to get away for many of the reasons people travel. I find it very gratifying when I’m either visiting my mom, there with my husband or with all my kids in all that glorious chaos as well. It is fun and exciting, it is restful and relaxing, it is restorative and therapeutic all in the same destination depending on the circumstance and need.

There are amazing parks and waterfalls to explore for adventure. There are charming restaurants and bars for great food and drinks. The lakes provide fun recreation and relaxing evening sunset cruises. This is home away from home for me and I wish everyone could experience this one way or another!
