Tourism Cares’ Latest Travel, Volunteer and Training Opportunities

Tourism Cares brings together like-minded people and places in order to work together through uniting, inspiring and amplifying. This includes all types of travel companies, from tour operators and hoteliers to tech companies and travel advisors.

Joining forces with this organization means being part of a collective group that is doing good work within the travel industry and focusing on important issues that require attention. So what’s the best way for travel advisors to get involved? In addition to becoming a member, here are the latest opportunities available with Tourism Cares.

Travel

Are you planning to be at IPW in San Antonino next month? If so, consider joining Tourism Cares in giving back to the host destination.  On Sunday, May 21, 2023, a group will kayak and explore along the San Antonio River while learning about the history and significance of this waterway. Learn more here.

Come October, Tourism Cares has joined forces with the Cultural Heritage Economic Alliance, Inc., The Travel Foundation and the US Cultural & Heritage Marketing Council to put on a unique tradeshow where culture, community and climate are the center of discussion. The Power of Partnership Stewardship Summit takes place October 15 – 18, 2023.

Volunteer

Interested in finding ways to give back in the travel industry? Volunteering with Tourism Cares is a great way to do so. The organization has several opportunities for advisors to help, including Meaningful Travel Map support, public relations support and diversity, equity and inclusion training.

Tourism Cares is always open to hearing about other ways travel professionals can get involved with volunteering too. Advisors with ideas that aren’t listed on the volunteer page can send an email to careers@tourismcares.org.

Training

In addition to the Meaningful Travel Map, Tourism Cares also has the Meaningful Travel Platform, which is an educational program designed to help travel professionals increase their knowledge and practices in sustainability.

The organization’s latest training module, "Marketing Your Sustainability Journey," is now live and available to take on the Meaningful Travel Platform.
