Staying Consistent With Your Marketing

“Consistency compounds.” This is a phrase I learned from author John Maxwell. He says, “when you live with consistency, it compounds like money in the bank.”

Whatever destination you are looking to grow in, the key is consistency in your marketing. I know you have heard this a million times. However, focus solely on being consistent with just where you want to see growth. You’ll naturally market the things you always do anyway. That’s why I am having you narrow in on what you want to improve this year.

Two years ago I was wondering why people always asked me so often if I book Universal. I am a family travel specialist and have sent many clients to both Disney and Universal. Why wasn’t it obvious to these clients who ask me?

I realized that was on me. I looked back and realized I was not talking about it, except when I was there. I was shocked. I decided to focus on Universal in my marketing efforts: at least five posts a month about Universal and going live with topics about visiting Universal on my business page.

In one year, my bookings for this destination went from being six percent of my total bookings to 30 percent.

This is where effort in marketing gives you the result of a sales goal.

The marketing goal was to go live and talk about Universal three times a month and post at least five times a month about the destination. This led to the increase in awareness that I can send my audience to Universal.

The goal was simple—focus on these five posts and these three live videos. And it worked. I did not commit to weeks or days, just on the month.

As we are sitting here at the beginning of 2023, remember to think of your desired result and then plan actions that are simple to do and will contribute to that result.

What is my end goal for the year?

What do I need to do every month to assist in reaching this goal?

How will I prioritize these actions?

Remember, consistency compounds. Keep it simple to keep it consistent and cheers to a new year.
