Sandos Hotels & Resorts Makes COVID Testing Free for Guests Staying 7 Nights or More

Updated Jan. 29 – On Jan. 26, Sandos Hotels & Resorts announced an addition to their support measures listed below. Now all guests staying seven nights or more that require a PCR test to re-enter their countries of origin can obtain it for free on-site.

On Jan. 15, Sandos Hotels & Resorts released their new support measures that include free COVID testing on-site in support of their current and future guests. These new offerings accommodate U.S. travelers who need to adhere to the CDC’s new entry requirements. This statement also followed in the footsteps of La Colección Resorts’ recent announcement and based on the travel industry’s response to the CDC’s latest mandate, that was the right call. These are the following measures being implemented at Sandos’ properties:

  • Free PCR test with minimum stay of 7 nights for guests who require it to re-enter their countries of origin.
  • Working with hospitals, the Antigen tests will be free (only for travelers to or through the U.S.) and PCR tests will be at a low price for their guests.
  • Testing will occur on-site at the hotel properties to avoid displacement of guests.
  • Granting a free 14-day stay in one of the rooms designated for quarantined guests if a guest tests positive for COVID-19 while they’re staying at a Sandos hotel.
  • Ensuring the well-being of affected people and other guests by following specialized action protocols.

Here is some more helpful info from Sandos’ statement to share with travelers.

  • A negative test result from the NAAT or antigen viral test is required within three days before the flight and a verifiable test result is considered a written document in paper or electronic format.
  • While providing a negative test is not required to enter Mexico, it is recommended to help stop the spread of possible infection.
  • The CDC requires traveling with a letter from your healthcare provider stating you’re cleared to travel. So, if travelers have recently recovered from COVID-19 and don’t have any symptoms of COVID-19, haven’t been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, and have properly quarantined, they are cleared for travel.
