Travel insights from Codie Liermann, managing editor of The Compass

November 2022 Editor’s Note

Love was in the air last month as we focused on romantic travel, especially destination weddings. In fact, you can see a full recap of all the details at our dedicated destination wedding resource page on VAX VacationAccess. Here you’ll find a variety of tools to use to boost your destination wedding business, from supplier tips to expert advice from travel advisors.

In-person events continue to be a driving force behind travel advisors’ success, and The Compass was able to see this firsthand at ALG Vacations’ Ascend conference in Cancun, Mexico. Out of the almost 1000 attendees, 557 were travel advisors, and the buzz of energy among them was visible throughout the entire event. Agents come from all over to participate in workshops, strengthen and create new relationships with partners and network with other advisors.

To say the event was a success is an understatement. The dates for the next year’s Ascend conference are October 18-21, 2023. The company anticipates just as much interest in next year’s event as this year, so those hoping to attend will want to sign up early to ensure a spot.

As we turn our attention to November, The Compass has Caribbean travel on the radar. We’ll have lots of travel inspiration for you to share with you clients, including articles on go-to Caribbean destinations for this year’s winter vacation, 10 of the best Caribbean beaches and a round up of private islands owned by cruise lines to visit. All of this content is created especially with your travelers in mind.

Did you know you can share our articles with just one click? With The Compass’ easy one click sharing buttons at the top righthand corner of each article, you can easily share to social media or in an email. And there’s no need to worry – content on The Compass is in front of the VAX login meaning travelers can’t access anything you’re working on behind the scenes. Be sure to give it a try!
