Travel insights from Beth Kitzman, BDM for VAX VacationAccess

No Luck Needed to Navigate in VAX

One of the most frequent phrases I hear in praise of VAX is, “VAX is so intuitive and so easy to use.” Well, that is what I chose to focus on for my first episode of Beth’s Buzz Live. For as much as I hear that VAX is easy to use, I was stunned to learn that many agents are not aware of the vast amount of content and resources that are available just for you on our site! I really shouldn’t have been stunned, because every time I share much of this same information I do hear the same response. In fact, I often hear shock at the realization followed by gratitude and the promise to explore. We all get busy and I am the first to admit that the list of topics, updates, issues or sites that I need to follow to learn more continues to grow, but since this is my job to share this information, I’m going to share again how easy it is to find what you need in VAX!

On a very high level, allow me share what you can find in the way of navigation under the tabs on VAX:

  • Reservations – Do you need to learn about the different suppliers for the many modes of travel offered on VAX? We’ve split them up by Vacation Packages, Hotels & Resorts, Air, Cruise and Guided Tours.
  • Offers & Incentives – Are you looking for the best deal or promotion from all of the suppliers for your customer in one place? And perhaps some agent incentives for you?
  • Suppliers – Supplier showcases help you learn about supplier promos, incentives, what they have to offer, contact information, marketing collateral and so much more. Again, we’ve split these up by supplier type to help you find exactly what you’re looking for:
  • Destinations – Which destination is the client’s best fit or supplier to that destination? These are organized by the main regions you can book on VAX:
  • Education – This one is full of educational resources from supplier webinars, VAX trainings that help you manage your business and our New Agent Education page that has a series of trainings that you have time for, as they are focused and to the point!
  • The Compass – HUGE source of content here! We have created a home base for leisure travel agents with exclusive industry content curated from leaders around the industry, articles written by agents, travel inspiration and more. And guess what: All of it is shareable!
    • Explore this whole tab – watch for more detailed information in an upcoming webinar and article.

The biggest takeaway from my first webinar, based on agent feedback, was the power of the CONTENT SEARCH tool on VAX (which is different than the booking engine search). You can enter a phrase or even a simple keyword and get links to content to guide you through the process often via video or step-by-step guidance. My message to you is to try to search your needs before picking up the phone to call a supplier. A few relevant examples might be:

  • Cancel a reservation
  • Submit a refund request
  • Travel credit balance check
  • Applying travel credit

What have you missed by not using the content search tool? What saved your day by using the content search tool? Share your answers to help others find success!

If you missed that first webinar, check out the on-demand to watch whenever you’d like!
