May Editor’s Note
If you’re reading this, I’m already gone…..to Mexico! That’s right, friends – I’m on vacation. But I wanted to leave you with my monthly editor’s note to help fill the void for you while I’m gone.

Besides tweeting about my travel experiences and my beloved Real Housewives’ vacation habits, I’ll be sharing other (more important) industry insights as well as articles from The Compass. It’ll be fun! Everybody’s doing it!
Besides my vacation that I can’t stop talking about, May has A LOT going on. There’s quite a bit, so I’m going to break it down:
- Apple Vacations is now exclusively on VAX – As of May 1, VAX is the only booking platform where you can book Apple Vacations! We are so excited to have Apple bookable for you. Now you’ve got one more powerhouse vacation supplier right at your fingertips, making your job that much easier.
- Apple Leisure Group’s Appreciation Celebration – Five of the brands in the Apple Leisure Group family will be showing their appreciation for travel agents and celebrating their close partnerships with agents. Look for articles all month long from the presidents of the brands on The Compass, as well as all around VAX for awesome giveaways from Apple Vacations, Travel Impressions, Funjet Vacations, Blue Sky Tours and Southwest Vacations. It’s time to celebrate YOU!
- Articles focused on U.S. travel – Domestic travel is our editorial focus in May, just in time for the summer road trip season. Some of the articles I’m anticipating the most are an awesome article on Universal’s Stay & Play package, plus some big news about SeaWorld and Los Angeles travel tips, crowdsourced from my favorite people: YOU!
- Guided tours articles – Guided tours are a relatively new category for us to talk about on VAX, so I’m glad we’re dedicating a whole month to them on The Compass. Keep your eye out for articles on interesting destinations from Intrepid Travel, plus guided tours for giving back, cold-weather guided tours and more.
I’ve got major vacation fever right now, so I’ve gotta go. One last quick thing about you – we want you on The Compass. We have a category dedicated just to you (Perspectives), so we need more of you guys in it! Send us your travel agent story, advice for other agents or even a cool story about a client’s trip (I know you have some!).
