Sandals Resorts debuted some exciting new services and initiatives in 2018 that will carry on into the new year. See what travelers can experience from Sandals into 2019.
As of November 2018, Sandals now offers luxury transfers to Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica. The complimentary rides are only available to guests staying in the Club and Butler room categories, but it’s still a great perk to get a complimentary ride in a BMW from the airport to the resort. Talk about starting off on the right foot. They’ve been offering this new service for Sandals Montego Bay since October.
In September, Sandals announced the first phase in their initiative to eliminate all single-use plastic from all 19 of their resorts. That first step was eliminating single-use plastic straws and stirrers from their resorts by November 1, 2018. That’s more than 21 million pieces of single-use plastic. Guests can request a paper straw if they need one, which is more environmentally friendly.
Sandals Royal Barbados is growing. On November 19, Sandals officially launched 50 new luxury suites at the resort, bringing the room count up to 222 at the all-suites resort. The resort itself, which is Sandals’ second resort in Barbados, is home to many firsts for Sandals, including the brand’s first rooftop pool and bar, a 4-lane bowling alley and a men’s only barbershop.
