Las Vegas Hotel Facelifts Coming Soon!

Las Vegas is evolving. Part of this evolution in the destination is the reimagining of three major hotels, poised to breathe new life in the experiences of repeat visitors and to wow the first-timers.

Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas

By the end of 2018, Monte Carlo Resort and Casino will be reimagined and fully transformed into two distinct hotel experiences: Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas.

This property is the first of its kind to the Las Vegas Strip. The coupling of MGM’s rich legacy of hospitality and entertainment with Sydell Group’s expertise in creating boutique hotels will cultivate a strong sense of place and result in a destination that both celebrates the history of Las Vegas and ushers in a new era.

By the end of May, Park MGM will be complete. The intimate English garden inspiration is evident right when guests first step into the lobby, with botanical elements all around. The lobby’s design allows for a more natural and meaningful dialogue between guests and hotel representatives, but there are also 24 self-service check-in stations, creating a nontraditional lobby design with fewer actual front desk stations.

Park MGM’s 2,605 rooms include 102 Stay Well Rooms that offer guests enhancements like an illuminated vanity mirror, air purifier, aromatherapy diffuser, circadian lighting, UV cleaning kit, wake-up light, Stay Well mattresses, Vitamin C shower infuser and a bathroom night light. This new room category is all part of Park MGM’s fresh new experiences.

By the end of 2018, NoMad Las Vegas will be ready for guests. NoMad’s distinct luxury experience and subtle European influences have a more warm and residential feel for Las Vegas, and wonderfully complement the Park MGM experience. It’s more about romance than sexiness at NoMad Las Vegas.

The dining scene at this new property includes the award-winning NoMad Restaurant by Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara; Eataly, the vibrant Italian marketplace; Primrose, a South-of-France-inspired restaurant with Michelin-starred chef Bryce Shuman; and Bavette’s Steakhouse and Bar from renowned Chicago restaurant group Hogsalt.

Virgin Hotel Las Vegas

Very exciting news: the Virgin Hotels brand is coming to Vegas. The brand recently purchased Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and has big plans to reconceptualize and revitalize it into the Virgin Hotel Las Vegas.

The property will continue full service operations as Hard Rock until it opens as a Virgin Hotels hotel in late fall 2019. The entire property will undergo a face lift (including a full renovation of the casino), expected to cost in the hundreds of millions, with the final product being a showcase of Virgin’s signature sleek and stylish design with an eclectic mix of social spaces. New nightlife venues will be coming too, along with the brand’s flagship space, the Commons Club, an exclusive social club.

The Palms Las Vegas

The Palms Las Vegas was recently purchased by Station Casinos, who is planning to turn it into a virtually new property with $485 million in improvements. They hope their efforts will return the Palms to its glory days: 2001 when the property opened. Back then it was an iconic resort and a must-see Las Vegas attraction. A place to see and be seen.

The plans include a nightclub, pool club and Vandal restaurant, all developed in partnership with the Tao Group; a new Bobby Flay restaurant with raw fish preparation; a new-to-Vegas barbeque restaurant from celebrity chef Michael Symon; a new 20,000-square-foot wellness spa and salon; and a total refresh of the Pearl Theatre, which will be operated in a partnership with Live Nation.

Also, launching this year for a total of 16 shows will be the hotel’s first rock residency, Blink 182, at the famous music venue, the Pearl Concert Theater. Additionally, a wide variety of music genre shows in 2018 will also be coming to the Pearl Concert Theater including Alanis Morissette, Train, Zac Brown Band, Alice Cooper, Charlie Puth, Halsey, Peter Frampton, 3 Doors Down and Simple Minds.
