I Stayed There: The Level at Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort

I recently traveled to Punta Cana with a coworker for the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) and had the pleasure of spending a few nights at The Level at Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort. The adults-only resort was recently renovated with a focus on wellness, and even though much of my time was spent in business meetings and at the conference, I was still able to soak up a bit of sunshine and tropical vibes.

The Vibe

With lush gardens, roaming peacocks and lily pad-filled ponds throughout the property, those who stay at this expansive resort receive a warm welcome to the tropics. Melia offers plenty of elbow room for all guests and we never had an issue getting seated promptly for meals or grabbing chairs at the beach. The Level is the section closest to the beach and is an easy shuttle ride to/from the main lobby.

How I Felt

The Level at Melia Punta Cana left me feeling relaxed because of the adults-only atmosphere, swaying palm trees and sense of serenity throughout. I didn’t have time to lounge in one of the many hammocks throughout the gardens but did get to experience one of Melia’s wellness inclusions with a yoga class that left me feeling centered and peaceful.

The Digs

I stayed in The Level Suite Beach Side in Villa #10 which gave me easy access to the beach and the exclusive Level pool. My room was large, bright and airy with high ceilings. The bathroom’s walk-in shower, Rituals bath amenities, comfy bathrobes and slippers added a touch of luxury to the experience. Of course, I won’t complain about the included mini-bar snacks either because sometimes peanut M&M’s are just what you need after a long day of travel.

The Agenda

Since I was visiting Punta Cana for the conference, I did not have as much time as I’d like to fully absorb all that Melia had to offer. I was able to wake up early enough for a long walk on the beach one morning and was thankful that Melia had a very effective sargassum barrier installed so I could avoid it. Anytime I went to or from my room, I was always able to enjoy the property’s beautiful grounds and even made a little time to stop and hug a tree as the signs encourage a little nature love.
