I have done a lot of traveling in my adult life. My childhood was mostly road trips in the car. In my adult life, I’ve traveled on many airlines that don’t even exist anymore. I guess many of us probably have. I worked for a decade with Midwest Airlines, and I remember working there as JetBlue came into the airline picture. I remember the description was often the closest thing to Midwest Airlines as you could get without flying, “The best care in the air.”
Certainly, with all my travels for VAX, one might think I’ve flown all the airlines that are out there as well. Well, JetBlue is a new one to me. I did fly with them last October and was impressed with the leg room and comfort of the seats. It was a very hurried and shorter flight, so it didn’t make a huge impression on me. This last flight made a big impression on me though.
I flew from Orlando to Milwaukee, through JFK on JetBlue a couple of weeks ago. It was on my birthday. Since it was my second flight, I of course had no status, but I do understand that if you have American Status it carries over so that’s good to note. My travel colleague was one of the first to board as she has some level of status with American. It was my birthday so I thought why not ask if maybe that could get me early boarding or a comfort seat. That was a big no and a little bit of a chuckle that I would even ask but, hey if you don’t ask you don’t know.
As I boarded the plane, I was wonderfully greeted by the flight attendant, and I laughingly told him my story about the request. He was quick to ask where I was sitting and proceeded to sincerely tell me to have an amazing birthday. I sat down and began my quest to determine which movie I would watch and to my surprise I received a birthday greeting on my screen! Not only that, when the drink service came around, I was handed a card in an envelope and offered a premium drink of my choice for the flight on my special day! I didn’t receive the same treatment on my connecting flight; however, I will say it was still a very friendly crew, remarkably comfortable seats and really nice leg room.
I also found the free internet to be outstanding. Not just free texting, but free internet. I was able to surf Instagram, Facebook, emails and even Googled something while in flight. All in all, I found it to be the best way to spend a birthday in flight! My flights held, bags were tracked along the way and arrived quickly and in good shape. The viewing selection was also more than I am used to with most airlines.
I will fly JetBlue again, and would recommend it to you and your clients.
I’ve heard it said by many people when I tell them that I’m traveling to Cleveland as one of my work destinations that it’s the mistake by the lake. Well, I’m here to tell you that there is a hidden gem in the travel industry that meets there for KHM’s Destination Success conference each year. I don
The 2019 Travel Leader’s Network EDGE Conference was held this year at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. I was lucky enough to attend the event with a few other members of our VAX team; Sarah, our senior manager of VAX’s marketing and operations, and Jor
It’s been some time since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) loosened the guidelines for cruisers and cruise lines. With that news more and more passengers are jumping on ships and planning their cruise vacations. Seems like a great time to remind you of all the cruise resources at
Industry travel has ramped back up and I have been lucky enough to get out to several travel events where I spoke with many advisors again face-to-face. There’s always a lot of focus on VAX, the award-winning booking platform, and some of the tools that help to make you more efficient as an advisor.
