Discover Tourism Cares' Meaningful Travel Maps

Advisors who are passionate about sharing authentic and sustainable experiences with their travelers might be familiar with Tourism Cares, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing together travel and tourism communities through programs designed to improve the lives of the people and places of travel. From tour operators and hoteliers to airlines and tech companies, advisors can work with various travel companies through Tourism Cares to help make a difference in people’s lives and the industry as a whole.

Discover the Meaningful Travel Map

To connect advisors with sustainable and local suppliers, Tourism Cares has created a collection of Meaningful Travel Maps. Interactive and always evolving, these easy-to-navigate maps act as a resource to help travel pros discover businesses, nonprofits and social enterprises that focus on connecting vacationers with hands-on cultural experiences, products and services that make a direct impact on the community.

Advisors can choose from three categories — North America, Jordan and Colombia

Advisors can browse three interactive maps — North America, Jordan and Colombia. The North America map is the largest of the three and advisors can easily sift through its contents by selecting a specific country or region. On the smaller maps, Jordan and Columbia, advisors will notice the ability to browse by either the provided filters or map legend with categories such as “Culture”, “Nature and Adventure”, “Sun and Sand” or “City”, “Social Enterprise”, and “Tourist Attraction”, respectively.

Developed to accompany the nonprofit’s Meaningful Travel Summits, each location featured in the Meaningful Travel Map collection has been fully vetted to help advisors and tour operators find authentic products and experiences. These maps are always growing as businesses, organizations and social enterprises can request to have their site added to the North America map by asking to submit a map pin.

In 2023, Tourism Cares plans to expand its North America map with more options in Canada and Mexico.
