Travel Insights from Codie Liermann, managing editor of The Compass

December 2022 Editor’s Note

The Compass is filled with articles specifically created for you, from business tips to industry news. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that we also provide content for you to share with your clients. With our Caribbean theme last month, we had the opportunity to create all sorts of travel inspiration. Below you’ll find a few articles you can share with your travelers as they begin thinking about their winter trips.

Who doesn’t love reading about the Caribbean, especially as the temperature continues to drop? As we move into December, we’re switching it up to talk about cruising. You’ll see a round up of some of the best beaches to visit via cruise ship, less-traveled ports worth exploring and national parks accessible by cruise ship.

One of the newest cruise ships to hit the open water is NCL’s New Norwegian Prima, and the VAX team was lucky enough to experience this brand new ship during its inaugural sailing out of Galveston. This is the first of six Prima-class ships to be introduced, and NCL didn’t hold back. The ship has waterslides, mini golf, a three-level racetrack, a spa, a large theater for entertainment and much more.

December is also a great month to take a breather. The work of a travel advisor can sometimes seem endless, but choosing to carve out time this holiday season to spend with family and friends will help you to recoup and prepare for the busy wave season ahead. One of the biggest topics over the holiday get-togethers is travel, so if you take some time off this month, you’ll be ready to tackle all the new inquiries to come in January.
