I’ve heard it said by many people when I tell them that I’m traveling to Cleveland as one of my work destinations that it’s the mistake by the lake. Well, I’m here to tell you that there is a hidden gem in the travel industry that meets there for KHM’s Destination Success conference each year. I don’t think a city that links us to an agency that host this many dynamic and passionate agents can be a mistake! This trip to Strongsville, Ohio was an energetic mix of two tradeshows and a VAX VacationAccess training.
We started the morning with an ASTA Ohio agents tradeshow. The agents that came learned all about the value that ASTA offers the travel industry. ASTA stands for American Society of Travel Agents and is the world’s largest association of travel professionals including agents and travel suppliers. ASTA is the leading advocate for travel agents, the travel industry and the traveling public. If you are not aware of ASTA check out ASTA.org and become educated on how they are fighting your battles at the government level.
That afternoon the tradeshow brought me many KHM agents full of questions, wanting updates and curious about what’s coming next on VAX. My main focus was to enlighten agents about The Compass and demonstrate why it should be every agent’s daily destination for industry content exclusively to help you earn, learn and grow!
The VAX training was a full house of excited and energetic agents! Talking to many of them following the training was beneficial and some agents told me they took three full pages of notes; I also received feedback on how we can continue to grow our technology to innovate for the agents’ future! The overall message was that agents were going to go home and put Post-It notes up to remind them to check The Compass daily until it was a habit. Of course it’s always great to get out and be face to face and hear about the agents VAX love!
Stay tuned with what VAX has going on by following us on Facebook or checking in on The Compass!
If you are new to the travel industry, you might not even know what “BDM” stands for. A BDM is a Business Development Manager. Suppliers employ BDMs to help agents grow their business with the supplier. Often BDMs are the individuals who will attend seminars, host webinars, and reach out to an agenc

I was fortunate to be able to help Dugan’s celebrate their 20th birthday in Anaheim, CA in February. The most agents in my history with Dugan’s gathered ready to engage for this conference! This was my 4th Anaheim conference with them, and once again, though I’m right across the street from Disneyl
