Another month, another almost-forgotten editor’s note! Goodness, I don’t know what is happening to me! Maybe I am still shook after the season finale of The Bachelorette (Jed, really? Come ON). Maybe I am having too much fun getting my Twitter game going.
But really, it’s probably all the exciting stuff that’s happening in the industry right now. Like Ascend, Apple Leisure Group Vacations’ new travel agent event, happening this September. And Universal Orlando Resort’s big announcement of a new theme park! And our new content series on The Compass: I Stayed There, with our first piece sharing the experience our editor Taylor had at Riu Cancun over spring break. I just can’t pick a favorite thing, which is one of the reasons I love the travel industry – there is always so much happening.
Though August is almost over, I still want to call out some of my fave articles for the month. Our theme is culinary experiences, inspiring us to publish pieces on 10 great food festivals, new and exciting cruise line + celeb chef partnerships and this in-depth piece on Jamaica’s culinary renaissance (this is a GREAT read).
And this month, we focused not just on one destination but rather the discovery of new destinations. That brought you a guide to secret islands, a quick reminder of cool domestic destinations (shout-out to MKE, our hometown!) and some big news from American Airlines.
One more thing…..my usual shameless plug. VAX has always been 100% dedicated to agents, asking you for your feedback and insights on how to make the site better for you. And The Compass is no different. We want you to have a big presence on The Compass and we want to publish YOUR content. Did you just write a great blog post for your agency’s website? Send it to us. Did you just get back from an amazing trip? Write about it and send it to us at thecompass@vaxvacationaccess.com.
Well, July has been so busy; I almost forgot to write my editor's note! Rest easy, everyone, because here it is. So what has been happening this month? First, our theme is something I’m very into: eco-friendly and sustainable travel. Here’s what we’ve already published for you on that topic: 6 All-
Hawaii month on The Compass was a blast. We had so much great content that I just have to share some pieces you may have missed: Hawaii is for Park Lovers – There is an endless number of places to visit in Hawaii to enjoy the state’s natural beauty. Here are our picks at the national, state and loc
And just like that, another month has come and gone. During the month of September, The Compass focused on ski travel, from airlines' ski and snowboard policies to accessibility on the slopes. We also featured Club Med’s unique all-inclusive ski vacation experience at its various mountain resorts. S
The Compass is filled with articles specifically created for you, from business tips to industry news. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that we also provide content for you to share with your clients. With our Caribbean theme last month, we had the opportunity to create all sorts of travel insp
