ALG Vacations Adds Multi-Origin Booking Capability to VAX VacationAccess

Travel advisors with customers originating from different departure gateways can now take advantage of Multi-Origin booking functionality introduced by ALG Vacations (ALGV) in the VAX VacationAccess platform.

Available for FIT reservations made with Apple Vacations®, Travel Impressions®, Funjet Vacations®, and Blue Sky Tours®, this useful feature simplifies the booking process for clients with different points of origin sharing the same hotel room. The capability is also useful in instances where some guests may require airfare while others do not.

“Customers who don’t live in the same city still like to vacation together.  With today's busy lifestyles, they often like to combine a personal getaway with a conference or business trip. Multi-Origin functionality helps our agent partners serve their clients more efficiently by eliminating the need for multiple bookings,” said Jacqueline Marks, Executive Vice President, ALG Vacations.

“Travel agent productivity and profitability are integral to the ALGV mission, and this is just one of the many ways we’re leveraging our technological strengths to invest in their success,” noted Marks.

Like many other recent VAX enhancements, top-performing travel agent partners are applauding the introduction of Multi-Origin booking capability for its self-service functionality. This is seen as a significant advantage for travel advisors who were previously required to pick up the phone to make this type of reservation. By providing agents with the ability to make these non-traditional bookings themselves in VAX, ALGV is delivering on its promise to empower travel professionals.

"VAX VacationAccess is 100% focused on serving the needs of travel advisors. The back-end logistics behind Multiple Origin Air – Shared Hotel packages required out-of-the-box solutions, but it streamlines the process for agents and ensures they're able to qualify for value-adds and incentives they may not receive booking trip components individually. Productivity enabling features like this are part of the reason VAX is the platform of choice for more than 120,000+ active leisure travel professionals,” said Josef Shomperlen, Vice President of Business Development, Trisept Solutions®.

To book clients originating from multiple points, choose the “Multiple Origin Air-Shared Hotel” package type in VAX. Agents will be prompted to select flights for all passengers requiring airfare before proceeding to hotel selection. Where applicable, Travel Protection Plus should be added to the flight component in order to take advantage of the low deposit benefit.
