Which means while you’re out to sea, you’ll also be taking out your wallet for food and bevvies. And nobody wants to carry a wallet around in their swimsuit. But, back on land at our favorite all-inclusive Mexico resorts, all dining, drinks and treats are included with your stay. So, go ahead. Indulge. And feel free to give your wallet the week off.

Some excursions and spa treatments cost extra at a resort (just like they would on a cruise), but most resorts come flush with exciting activities like snorkeling, kayaking and even catamaran sailing. (We never said you had to stay on land.) So not only will you have more options, you’ll have more time—and won’t have to be worried about being left behind like that one time your older brother forgot to pick you up from practice. Do what you want. When you want. Not when the captain says so. Hit the links at the break of dawn. Take your sweet time exploring ancient Mayan wonders. That scuba-diving excursion you have scheduled? Reschedule it whenever you want.
