ALG Vacations Shares COVID-19 Guideline Updates for Quintana Roo

In a July 30 email, ALG Vacations shared updates from the Quintana Roo Tourism Board to help travelers navigate and understand COVID-19 requirements when visiting the destination.

The email clarified five requirements:

  • Guests do not need to show a negative COVID test or a vaccination card in order to check in to their hotel.
  • Restaurants and bars located outside of hotels must reduce their maximum capacity to 50% in order to remain open until midnight.
  • Select main avenues in downtown Cancun are, at this time, closing from midnight until 5:00 am.
  • The government does not require proof of vaccination for dining venues, though be aware some establishments may ask for it. Introducing a “safe health space,” where all guests and staff are either vaccinated or tested, is a suggestion to allow venues to serve a higher capacity and, according to the Quintana Roo tourism board, has not been implemented by any restaurant, bar, or hotel they are aware of.
  • Mask and social distancing requirements remain in place for public spaces.

ALG Vacations also reminded travel advisors to regularly check the ALG Vacations CDC Guidelines page for up-to-date information on new policies from the vacation brands and the hotels and destinations they work with.
