ALG Vacations CDC Travel Update – FAQs, Hotel, Destination and Travel Protection Plus Info

As world travel guidelines shift quickly, so do we at ALG Vacations™ (“ALGV”). Please know that all of us here are working as swiftly and efficiently as possible to provide the timely, relevant and accurate facts regarding the new CDC U.S. entry requirements effective January 26, 2021. For the most current information, please visit and bookmark www.ALGVacations.com/CDCGuidelines, a new page that will be updated continually as we receive more details.

Check back frequently to access links to official CDC information; forms; hotel and destination testing updates; and airline communications. A new FAQ section has also been added to help you answer the questions your customers are surely asking.

As part of our commitment to give advisors MORE without fail, please rest assured that ALGV will never stop looking for new ways to support you. We strive to make your job easier during difficult times, you can count on us, whether it’s remaining flexible by adjusting policies to better suit your needs as the business changes ... or introducing technology to put critical information at your fingertips.

Technology and Hotel/Destination Information

We are working closely with our hotel suppliers and with in-destination DMCs—including Amstar and others—to provide updates on hotel testing sites; COVID-19 test pricing; and policies and procedures in the event that a customer tests positive.

Should your clients wish to change to a resort that’s offering free on-site testing, they may choose to take advantage of our zero brand change fee policy. In fact, in direct reference to the above regarding technology, we are already working on adding filters to the booking path in VAX, allowing you to sort hotels by “free” and/or “on-site” testing! We are presently collaborating with our hotel partners to help cover quarantine expenses; more details will be included with future communications.

We encourage you to refer frequently to the hotel grid posted here for details. This grid will be updated daily, so be sure to use the latest version on our page. To avoid extended call center hold times, we strongly recommend that you make changes directly in VAX. For a helpful walk-through, you can view our self-help video tutorial or our Reservations Modifications Made Easy webinar recording on demand.

As a gesture of good will, ALG Vacations™; is funding this added coverage.

Again, in order to best serve you and avoid longer hold times, we ask for your assistance by avoiding reaching out to our call center for updates; our representatives have the same information that we are sharing in this letter, and we will be updating our new page www.ALGVacations.com/CDCGuidelines as frequently as possible.

Finally, many of you have been asking if we will be bringing back the Rebook Now. Recharge Later 125% travel credit offer. We’ll just say this: we’re exploring every option to keep business on the books during this time ... so stay tuned!
