Airline Customer Service Resources

Labor Day marks the end of summer to many. Sure we can look at the actual end date of summer with the Autumnal Equinox of September 22, 2022, but since families have sent kids back to school it’s pretty safe to say that the general population feels that Labor Day marks the end of summer. Anyone that has traveled these last several months leading up to and during summer might agree that it has been a rocky road that has been difficult to navigate and remain calm and patient through.

According to the article Labor Day Weekend Air Travel Surpasses 2019 Levels as Airlines Cap a Rocky Summer, it may be that we can begin to be a bit more optimistic as we plan to travel this fall and holiday season. TSA surpassed the screened 8.6 passengers and flight disruptions were below recent trends due to decent weather patterns.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this article to me was the link to the Airline Customer Service Dashboard. The U.S. Department of Transportation has shared a dashboard to make sure all passengers traveling have a resource to determine what they’re entitled to in the event that there is a delay or cancellation to their flights. It’s a great resource for passengers as well as travel advisors to know how to assist their clients in a pinch with these situations. This also provides links to all the airlines’ customer service plans so travelers can be very clear on what they can expect as far as their rights and refunds. It’s always good to be prepared and to have the facts in your back pocket!
