5 Hotels Where Celebrities Welcomed the New Year

I may have spent New Year’s Eve on my couch in pajamas (no shame!), but some celebrities chose to welcome 2020 with a bit more style and in places where regular people like us can easily visit.

1. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana

   Mariah Carey and her kids Moroccan and Monroe headed to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana for fireworks and incredible ocean-view accommodations. No one parties better than Hard Rock, so you know they pulled out all the stops for NYE, especially with such a VIP in the house.

   The Jonas Brothers had a big 2019 so it’s only fitting that they’d bid adieu to the year in a big way with a blow-out bash at the landmark Fontainebleau Miami Beach. As one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach, it’s a beautiful place to celebrate anything.

   Gabrielle Union took a pre-NYE vacation to Maui with a stay at Andaz Maui at Wailea with her husband Dwayne Wade and their incredibly cute daughter Kaavia. Andaz Maui is a beautiful property with a great spa, infinity pools, a restaurant from acclaimed chef Masaharu Morimoto of Iron Chef fame and much, much more.

   Eva Longoria spent New Year’s Eve at the newly opened Nobu Los Cabos with her husband José Bastón and son Santiago. The resort opened in November 2018 and it is stunning. Blending Japanese minimalism with a natural Mexican vibe creates a chic, relaxing atmosphere fitting for a celebrity yet attainable to the rest of us.

   She may not be a celebrity-celebrity, but Dorinda Medley of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York is still notable in some people’s eyes (like mine). She enjoyed some R&R over the New Year at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico. This is just the second Reserve property in Ritz-Carlton’s portfolio, with the first being Pulay Bay in Thailand, so you know it’s luxurious.
