2021 Brings Exciting Changes for Meliá Hotels International

Between reopenings, new wedding packages, and massive renovations, 2021 has been a very busy year for Spanish-owned Meliá Hotels International. This is especially true for two of the hotelier’s concepts - Paradisus and ME by Meliá both of which ushered in a series of exciting changes over the last few months.

ME Cabo reopened in late October 2021 after undergoing a $10 million transformation. The result is a reimagined look that combines creativity with sophistication. The improvements made at ME Cabo touch on nearly every aspect of the resort; from guest rooms and public spaces to food and beverage outlets and an entirely new rooftop bar and lounge in partnership with Rosa Negra. What’s more, situated along Cabo’s only swimmable beach, Me Cabo offers an ideal location paired with contemporary design, personalized service, and enriching experiences for the modern traveler.

The hotel’s new look is bold and contemporary featuring special touches around every corner. As for the color palette, visitors can expect to be whisked away by warm, earthy, natural hues dotted with touches of turquoise and ivory to complement the beauty of the Pacific Ocean.

The restaurants and guest services at ME Cabo are nothing but superb. Hungry? Grab a bite to eat at one of the resort’s rave-worthy restaurants like Confessions Skybar & Tapas, Taboo Beach Club & Restaurant, Funky Geisha, or Mamazzita Mexican Soul. In need of some R&R? Don’t miss the KORPO Wellness Experience, ME Cabo’s, “manifesto of the body, where well-being and self-care exist. Inner and outer wellness is reached through innovative treatments and techniques.” Ready to party? Check out ME Cabo’s Happenings Agenda for weekly events and more.

Switching gears, Meliá Hotels International’s Paradisus is also enjoying a moment with the reveal of a series of resort rebrands, reopenings, and an exciting new wedding program.

Fans of the resort’s Riviera Maya location Paradisus La Esmeralda will find the family-friendly portion of the hotel under its new name, Paradisus Playa del Carmen. Note that the adults-only portion of the resort will remain Paradisus La Perla. Likewise, the Punta Cana resort formerly known as The Grand Reserve is now named Paradisus Grand Cana with a focus on high-end multigenerational vacation experiences.

What’s more, Paradisus recently launched what they call “The Reserve”, an immersive vacation experience for adults, families, and groups. When guests choose to take advantage of this premium experience they can expect to enjoy unique attention to detail with concierge services and personalized activities, VIP check-in and check-out, access to exclusive spaces, oversized suites, and luxury amenities.

“As we continue to welcome back travelers, we are thrilled to offer this elevated experience in Punta Cana,” said André Gerondeau, Chief Operating Officer for Meliá Hotels International in a recent press release. “We know that The Reserve is something special that will create lasting memories for our guests.”

If wedding bells are in your future, you won’t want to miss Romance by Paradisus. Designed for couples who want to add their own flair to their special day, the hotelier’s new wedding program features five bundles - “No Shoes Allowed” which is described as chic and casual, “Nature Vibes” for the sustainably-minded couple, “Go Out With a Bang!” where guests will be wowed by dazzling lights and fireworks, “All Aboard!” for the seafaring lovers, and “It Takes Two or a Few” for an intimate ceremony for only the couple and a handful of guests.
