While your clients’ passports may be the key to unlocking some pretty incredible travel experiences, make sure you let them know this year that they don’t have to fly out of the country for an awe-inspiring escape! These two hidden gems of cities are right here in the U.S. and are sure to satisfy any traveler’s hunger for adventure.
In the south, there’s a city well-known for its distinctive culture and history, mouth-watering cuisine and incredible taste in music. New Orleans was named one of “The 50 Best Places to Travel in 2018” by Travel + Leisure Magazine, so be sure your clients add this city to their bucket list in the new year. Your clients have probably seen it in pictures, so make sure you recommend that they stop by the French Quarter to capture the essence of New Orleans’ rich culture and historic feel. Don’t worry, as new certainly blends in well with the old; from modern boutiques to original antique stores, they will be captivated by it all. Time also doesn’t matter, as it is never too early to have world-famous beignets at Café Du Monde with a steaming cup of coffee. It is certainly held true that wherever New Orleans may take them, your clients surely won’t escape the musical notes from jazz, R&B and more. It is especially entrancing if they plan their trips around celebrations like Mardi Gras (February 9-13 in 2018) and Jazz Fest (April 27-May 6). If they can’t make it then, they’re still in luck, as New Orleans is home to vibrant night life with incredible music clubs all over town, all year long!
Don’t let the famous “Windy City” name fool you, because Chicago will surely blow your clients away with beautiful skylines, world-famous cuisine, museums and shopping galore. Don’t just take our word for it: Chicago landed a spot on Conde Nast Traveler’s list for “The Best Big Cities in the U.S.”, making it a premier destination must! No trip to Chi Town is complete without recommending a boat tour on The Chicago River, as they watch skyscrapers tower over them from each side. Make sure you recommend that they head over to Millennium Park, and while it may require a much-needed polish; The Bean is a must-see. Be sure they snap a few selfies and take in this unique sculpture only native to Chicago. If they’re up for it, recommend that they catch a baseball game at the world-famous Wrigley Field! Remind them to hold off on the peanuts and popcorn, because a Chicago-style slice of deep dish pizza or famous Chicago-style hot dog is likely in their future. Are your clients looking for an afternoon adventure? Have them walk the street of Michigan Avenue for The Magnificent Mile, with an incredible selection of popular brands and boutiques to shop at. If they plan their vacation just right, your clients may be lucky enough to catch an evening firework extravaganza at Navy Pier – a perfect way to end the day!
