10 Things for Your Clients to Do in Orlando

Orlando, Florida is nothing new to a travel agent’s ears. But there is way more to the sunshine state than theme parks and roller coasters. Although it may seem simple to plan a family vacation here, only the best of agents know how to make the most out of their clients' time so they can truly experience all that this vacation hot spot has to offer. We rounded up the top 10 tips about Orlando from your fellow VAX agents.

1.Don't forget to add on beach destinations as close as Cocoa Beach all the way to Ft. Lauderdale and the Keys. Spend some time at NASA, take airboat rides, swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove. The list is endless!

2.Orlando has great theme parks, but it is also a great city! You can catch a ballet, opera, or Broadway class theater performance at the Dr. Phillips Center, a Shakespearean masterpiece at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, or you can attend the Florida Film Festival at the Enzian Theater. Orlando boasts a number of museums as well as a science center, and has multiple beautiful gardens, like the Leu Gardens and the Mead Botanical Gardens. Many of Orlando's surrounding cities still maintain (and have revitalized) their historic downtown areas, and there is a great food, and food truck, scene.

3.If [your clients are] going to a theme park, stay onsite. You can do a value resort for the same rate if not cheaper than an offsite property because of the transportation that is included and all the extra values.

4.Go during the off-season to avoid the crowds. Not during winter or spring break. Summer is too hot and humid – the best times are in October, November and early March.

10.Drive your own or rent a car for at least a day or two. Orlando is an easy drive to both coasts. You can spend time in Cape Canaveral, Dayton or Tampa/St Pete and see more of the state.
